Here's our entire group!
Yeah, I'm telling you we packaged a lot of crackers.
Last but not least, I made some killer au gratin potatoes today. COLLEGE KID FRIENDLY. A great comfort food dish to pair with your favorite meat. Like chicken.
4 potatoes. Slice 'em thin.
1 onion. cut it however you really want
salt and pepper - as much or little as preferred
some butter. However fat you feel is however much you should put in. More fat feeling=less butter
a couple of tablespoons of flour. Feel it out.
2 cups of milk.
As much or as little cheese as you want. Again, use the fat equation.
Oven set to 400 degrees. Layer those potatoes in a casserole. OR MY FAVORITE- My deep covered baker. Top with Onions. Meanwhile in a saucepan melt some butter, put in your salt, pepper, flour. WHISK IT. pour in milk. Let it cook and sizzle until its thicker than before, NOT TOO THICK be careful. Stir in a giant clump of cheese. Pour over your potatoes. If you're really ambitious - top with bread crumbs.
Bake for ....a while.
Maybe like 30-45 in DCB or a bit longer in a casserole dish.
I did mine in the casserole because I was cooking fish filets in my DCB to go along. whoops.
BTW i like more sauce. so i used a bit more milk and cheese than the recipe ;) And I don't like crispy. So took it out of oven early.
