Last night Deeyar invited me to a community posted event that she found on the Rochester community page (which is a really handy resource). She is big into Zumba and dancing and we thought it would be fun for us to get out and about in the community. We didn't really know what to expect, but WOW did we have a great time. We ended up at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Rochester, which is really only a few miles from our apartment complex. We learned the Cha Cha!!! In a group formation. It was really a blast and I got to be the lead ;). We met a doctor that will be mentoring us at Mayo and I also met a few people from Royal Oaks, Michigan!
Because I am hopeless at dancing, this place really gave me the time and input to make me an adequate dancer. I still need to practice A LOT. But maybe I will be able to jump into the Cha Cha at an event ;). Here's a selfie with all of us at the studio, including our instructor!!
They did take a video of us Cha Cha'ing, so maybe that will be up soon. YIKES. I was bad. haha.
